Know Your Breeder

This message is about discrimination by Jeremy White of Fruition Farms in regards to selling a pup to me from his foundation girl, Great Companions Lady Dressed in Red, that I graciously placed with him to start his show/breeding career.  I am now 75 years old and have an Autistic son that lives with me.

I helped Jeremy White get started in breeding and showing by placing Great Companions Lady in Red “Chloe” with him.  Chloe was NOT my choice for Jeremy.  Jeremy wanted Chloe and took her over my pick.  The girl I chose for him took Winners Bitch, at the Royal Canin Show in 2019 for a 5-point major with Billy Huntington handling her, and gained her Championship under Billy.

Chloe was placed with Jeremy for pet price, plus a pup back.  I wanted to help a young collage student be able to afford a breed quality girl and also be a mentor for him to learn about the breed.  I never, ever in my wildest dreams thought that Jeremy would ever refuse me the right to purchase a pup out of his Great Companions foundation girl because of my age or the fact that I have an Autistic son.

Bond is a first-generation pup out of Great Companions Lady in Red and the pedigree on his dam’s side would give a loose line breeding with my Grand Champion girl Lil Bit O Honey and also two other red merle girls.

Although it was not in my contract that no first-generation pups were not to be placed in show homes, Jeremy understood that I did not place my pups in show/breeding homes and Jeremy was my first placement after entering full recognition in AKC.  I was never asked about placing Chloe’s pups in a show home, and did tell Jeremy that I had a problem with his placement of one of the other pups in that litter in a show home without ever talking to me.  I also mentioned that if he could not keep the show pup/pups himself that the pup could be sold as companion and not give out my lines to breeding programs.  If I don’t openly place my pups in show homes, why should he?

It is in my contract that Jeremy will work with me in selection of sires for Chloe and the contract does NOT STATE this is just for her first litter.  There are breeders out there that I don’t want my lines bred to and Jeremy is well aware of this.  Jeremy is in breach of the contract with all past and future breedings.

Jeremy has refused to let me purchase Bond, a first generation boy out of my lines.

Below is part of our conversation.

Jeremy

Linda. I personally care about you. I want the absolute best for you. I am grateful for you and I appreciate you. That being said, I worry about you. I have been dreading this conversation but I feel it needs to happen. I have not sold you Bond, not out of spite or dislike. But I worry about your health and living situation. You’ve had multiple issues with Ryan and Monica over the past few years. At one point you were saying you needed to place dogs so you could get away from them. Monica has not shown consistency with caring for the dogs. If something were to happen to you or if you retire from breeding, Monica or your daughter would take over and I do not trust them. I could be wrong, but they have not shown me otherwise. I say all this with love and respect for you. There is no I’ll intent.

Linda’s Response

I removed this part so no one who falls into age, special needs kids, health problems, widows, etc. will not be hurt.

Jeremy

I understand you are upset with me and I will have to live with that. I cannot speak for other breeders as you have mentioned. I can only go by what I have witnessed and experienced. I am glad if Monica has been doing good work for you. And I know it is not my business, but if I sold a pup, it would become my business. Again, I have said nothing with the intention of hurting you. But only to be honest.

Linda’s Response, edited to include additional information contained in another part of our message.

You may not be considering it, but you are discriminating against two special needs adults and a 75 yr. old woman who helped you get started in showing and breeding.  Ryan is on the Autistic Spectrum with Bi-Polar, ADD, and a host of other acronyms that go with Autism.  He is on SSI because of his disabilities.  Monica is ADHD and has never been tested for other problems.  She has poly cystic kidney disease.  She works an 8 hr. day and does half of the work with the dogs.  Because I am 75, that is age discrimination about my age and mention of  health is out of line because I do not have any current health problems.  I even survived COVID.

I went out of my way to bring you plasma, incubator, and oxygenator to save Bond’s sister.  By the way, you never replaced the plasma.  Hope you are proud of yourself for the judging and discrimination.  If I were vindictive, I would sue you for discrimination.

To those looking for pups or show pups, be careful who you do business with. You could find yourself in the same situation.  I have an agreement with a close friend that the male I have from her will go back to her should anything happen with health or getting out of breeding.

Final Thoughts By Me

If you are looking a conscientious breeder doing what she can to protect the breed from unethical breeders, back yard breeders, and breeders who are willing to turn on those who have only helped them and mentored them, then I am the breeder for you.  I vet my families who want pups and make sure they know how I do business.

If you want to get to know me, send me an email and we can start a dialogue.
